While Cameroon does not have a comprehensive data protection law, we follow international best practices and standards for data protection, including principles from the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable. You have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information. If you use Dropme in Quebec, you may contact us with questions about Dropme's use of your data for purposes of automated decision making, including regarding the factors considered in connection with such decision, to request correction of any personal data relating to such decisions, and to request review of any such decisions by Dropme personnel.

Dropme retains user data for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. This means that we retain different categories of data for different periods of time depending on the type of data, the category of user to whom the data relates, and the purposes for which we collected the data.
You may request deletion of your account at any time through the Settings section in the Dropme app, or through our website. Following such a request, Dropme deletes the data that it is not required to retain for purposes of regulatory, tax, insurance, litigation, or other legal requirements. For example, we retain location, device, and usage data for these purposes for a minimum of 7 years; while we retain such data, we may also use it for purposes of safety, security, fraud prevention and detection, and research and development. In certain circumstances, we may be unable to delete your account, such as if there is an outstanding credit on your account or an unresolved claim or dispute. Upon resolution of the issue preventing deletion, we will delete your account as described above.
After you delete your account, we may retain certain information in an aggregated and anonymized format.
You have many choices about how your data is collected, used, and shared.

You can edit the name, phone number, email address, payment method, and photo associated with your account through the Settings menu in the Dropme app. You can also request that we delete your account and personal data at any time.
You may opt out of receiving promotional communications from us by following the instructions in those communications or by adjusting your preferences in the Settings section of the Dropme app. If you opt out, we may still send you non-promotional communications, such as those about your account, our ongoing business relations, our services, or our ongoing privacy practices.
You may delete your account at any time through the Settings section in the Dropme app, or through our website. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data, subject to certain exceptions set forth in our data retention section.
You can prevent our collection of location data through your device settings. However, if you do so, some features of our services may not function properly.
For drivers and delivery partners, we collect background check information, including criminal records, where permitted by law. You can contact us if you have questions about our background check policies.
Most mobile platforms (iOS, Android) have defined certain types of device data that apps cannot access without your consent, and these platforms have different permission systems for obtaining your consent. The iOS platform will alert you the first time our app wants permission to access certain types of data and will let you choose whether or not to grant permission. The Android platform will notify you of the permissions that our app seeks before you first use the app, and your use of the app constitutes your consent.
